Instead of asking for people to donate money for the poor, like all other brands, HILAL BANK asked people to donate their smiles instead.
Through a smile recognition system, people would donate their smile by simply smiling at a tablet, or using the hashtag #donatemysmile, or even just simply uploading their smiley pictures.
HILAL BANK ended up having the most trending hashtag during ramadan, after the traditional greeting, Ramadan Kareem.
